About Dungeon Fall:
While the game isn’t abandoned (there’s a loyal fanbase who have been playing for years and are already leveled up and pay for the extras) I just can’t recommend this game based on the constant crashing and the fact that almost no one plays at the lower levels. I was an avid lover of the original Dungeon Defenders and played it on both PC and Playstation 3. However, DD2 seems to miss the mark. It’s all about level grinding for the right shards and that can cause players to literally sit in a level for hours just replaying the same level trying to get those pieces. DD2 also seems to crash every hour or so due to some fatal exception that keeps occurring. It’s happening on both my PC builds that are completely different PC’s so I know it’s not specific to the machine it’s running on. Also, about half the time you’ll be playing by yourself because there literally won’t be anyone on to play with at your level even if you’ve got the game set to play any level where others are playing. I really wanted to like DD2 since I loved the first one so much, but it’s a definite pass. I’d say just replay the original DD for nostalgia. If it hadn’t been for the last achievement that demands you to defeat 1000 special enemies, I wouldn’t have bothered with this review. I simply would have brushed it off as another 100% achievement completion and moved on. That’s the best I could have given this game because let’s be honest, this game to its core, is garbage. Perhaps it’s the heavy pay-to-win focus or the fact that item and inventory management are highly annoying but it got repetitive quickly. What didn’t help is the last achievement I mentioned prior which is just a major and unnecessary grind. I wasted three entire days of my life just to farm this, being forced to fail the same wave 500-600 times just so I could get some of these bastards to spawn. I’m never touching a Dungeon Defender game ever again.
