About Lumber Tycoon 2:
A game like Jack Lumber was meant to be played on portable phones. Its gameplay is so shallow and its price so steep that I just can’t recommend this to anyone, even if it is fun for sessions of 10 minutes. The graphics are clearly upscaled which results in the game occasionally having blurry graphics and the sounds are actually pathetic. The gameplay is all about cutting up trees, or pieces of lumber actually. You have to cut them up in a certain way and as fast as possible to gain enough points. At the end of a level is an animal that can be rescued by not cutting it up. Succesfully doing this will have the animal appear in your cabin. Unfortunately, it gives you no rewards and they’re absolutely pointless. Play it on your iPhone and you’ll have some fun, but playing this on your PC is a waste of money. It definitely would be better in its original, portable touchscreen format rather than this port that relies on your mouse skills. At times, it can be pretty difficult because of this. However it’s definitely fun in small snippets regardless. Basically, trees have been responsible for some tragic events in your life and you are out for revenge. How does one claim vengeance from trees? Cut them down. Basically, logs will fly in the air and you have to try to cleanly cut them all within a certain amount of time. There are game challenges centered around this that build up your stockpile of wood, which you can then use in the game’s version of a store to buy beards, pictures, and buffs (which will allow you to make mistakes and fix them for you as long as you have them). Throughout your woody murder spree, you will also take in a number of forest critters. Your first critter is a pun telling beaver. None of the other animals I’ve saved so far have any dialogue other than cute noises when you poke them. For all intents and purposes, that’s about all there is to this game. This was actually my very first Steamgifts win, so I thought I should finally give it a try. It’s fun for what it is and I can recommend trying it out. However, with that said, it’s also fair to disclose that I probably won’t play it anymore as despite the fun and cute factor, I’m just not good enough with a mouse to soldier through the remaining areas without getting frustrated lol. 6 out of 10. You might get a lot of mileage out of this game. Personally, I was glad to have given it a go. Cheers.
